Video Data Protection

Important: Sublyze does not retain, store, or collect video content permanently. Your videos are processed temporarily by our AI partners solely for subtitle generation purposes and are automatically deleted after 7 days. No video content is used for training AI models or any other purpose beyond providing you with subtitled videos.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information:

  • Apple ID (handled securely through Apple's authentication)
  • Email address (optional, provided by Apple)
  • Credit balance and subscription status
  • Purchase history

Content You Create:

  • Videos you upload for subtitle generation
  • Generated subtitles and edited content
  • Videos with embedded subtitles (stored for 7 days)
  • Creation metadata (timestamps, settings used)

Technical Information:

  • Device type and operating system
  • App version
  • IP address
  • Usage patterns and app performance data
  • Crash reports

Push Notification Data:

  • Expo Push Token (if you enable notifications)
  • Notification preferences

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide and maintain our subtitle generation services
  • Process your payments and manage credits/subscriptions
  • Store and deliver processed videos
  • Send push notifications about video completion
  • Improve app performance and user experience

3. Data Storage and Security

Video Storage:

Videos you upload are temporarily processed and stored for 7 days, then automatically deleted. Download your videos within this period.

Cloud Processing:

Videos are temporarily processed by our AI partners (including Fal.ai) to generate subtitles. Videos are automatically deleted immediately after processing completes.

Account Data:

Your credit balance, subscription status, and account information are stored securely while your account is active.

Security Measures:

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL)
  • Encryption at rest for stored data
  • Secure authentication with Apple Sign-In
  • Regular security audits and updates

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Apple: Authentication and payment processing
  • RevenueCat: In-app purchase and subscription management
  • Fal.ai: AI provider for subtitle generation (videos processed temporarily, not stored permanently)
  • Cloudflare R2: Secure video storage and delivery
  • Expo: Push notification delivery

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review their policies.

5. Data Retention

  • Generated videos: 7 days (automatically deleted)
  • Account data: As long as your account is active
  • Deleted accounts: Permanently deleted immediately upon deletion request
  • Transaction records: 7 years (for legal and tax compliance)

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Update your notification preferences
  • Request data deletion (via Settings → Delete Account)
  • Opt-out of push notifications
  • Withdraw consent at any time

For California Residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt-out of sale (we do not sell your data).

For EU Residents (GDPR): You have additional rights including data portability, restriction of processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
